So, as you may have heard by now, Max Scherzer was injured this afternoon when he fouled a batting practice bunt into his own face and broke his nose.
While his teammates were waiting out another rain delay and possible postponement, the 34-year-old pitcher was getting checked out by doctors.
According to multiple reports, the Washington Nationals confirmed tonight that Scherzer broke his nose.
Scherzer was scheduled to start one game of tomorrow’s split doubleheader with the NL East rival Philadelphia Phillies, though as of this afternoon there wasn’t any decision as to which game he would start.
