Washington’s Nationals and the Philadelphia Phillies decided to postpone the series finale in D.C. last night, but Nats’ skipper Davey Martinez told reporters in a joint press conference he fully expected his club would be back on the field for tonight’s series opener in Boston, MA.
“Yeah, I’m definitely hoping we play,” Martinez said.
“I want our guys to — we want to get to Boston, hopefully get a good night’s rest, and come back tomorrow and play tomorrow.
“Tomorrow is another special day. It’s Jackie Robinson Day, so for me, I think Jackie would want us to play tomorrow.
