Washington Nationals’ lineup for tonight’s series finale with the Cincinnati Reds...

Davey Martinez wasn’t giving much away as far as how he’d handle his lineup and pitching today since the rain last night led to the Washington Nationals and Cincinnati Reds having to play a game and a half in D.C., wrapping up the suspended game and then completing the series with tonight’s finale.

He did say that he would stick with Stephen Strasburg as the starter for the third of three with the Reds as previously planned.

“The second game is Stephen,” he confirmed. So that’s that. He also told reporters that the club reinstated reliever Tanner Rainey from the COVID-IL before today’s resumption of last night’s suspended game, optioning Kyle McGowin to Triple-A, but keeping him around as a 27th man for the nightcap of the sort-of-doubleheader.
