Anthony Rendon connected for hits in 22 of 26 games heading into the series finale with the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, going 34 for 98 (.347/.432/.561) with nine doubles and four home runs, 14 walks and 11 Ks over that stretch, which left him with a .315/.401/.601 line on the season.
Rendon was 0 for 2 in the third of three in Oracle Park when reliever Andrew Suarez hit him with a back foot, 2-2 slider, which actually caught Washington’s 29-year-old infielder on his right, back foot.
That was in the top of the fourth.
