Kyle Schwarber went 0 for 4 with two Ks in the Washington Nationals’ 5-1 loss to New York’s Mets in the first game of yesterday’s doubleheader in D.C., but he came up big in the Nats’ win in the nightcap, with two home runs, a solo shot and a three-run blast, in the 6-2 victory.
The two blasts were Schwarber’s 14th and 15th this season, and his 5th and 6th in the last nine games, three of them in the first at bats of the game since he’s moved to the leadoff spot in the Nationals’ lineup.
