Kyle Schwarber homered twice in Sunday afternoon’s game, leading off the bottom of the first, and then again with two on in the bottom of the second, giving the Nationals a boost they desperately needed in what ended up a 5-0 win over the San Francisco Giants.
It has worked out well with Schwarber leading off recently, and Davey Martinez might keep him up top for a while.
“He got us off to a great start, a quick start, and his next at bat was huge as well,” Martinez said after Schwarber went 2 for 4 with the two home runs, 4 RBIs, and a walk in the win.
