Washington’s Nationals have won seven of their last ten overall and two of three in the series with the Cincinnati Reds with one to play today.
Davey Martinez was asked after last night’s 6-2 win, which followed a 7-1 loss in the day half of the doubleheader, what was working for the Nationals’ offense as they’ve turned things around over the last few weeks.
“We’re using the whole field,” he said, “I mean, really, and taking our walks. I’ve said that over and over again.
“When we do that we’re pretty good, but a lot of balls — [Wilmer] Difo staying up the middle of the field, [Juan] Soto, a lot of hits going up the middle of the field, that was nice.
