In 45 career plate appearances against right-handed starter Julio Teheran, who’s starting for the Atlanta Braves tonight in the second of three for Washington in Georgia’s SunTrust Park, 25-year-old Nationals’ slugger Bryce Harper is 17 for 37 (.459/.556/1.108) with three doubles, seven home runs, seven walks, and five strikeouts. Not bad. Not bad.
It’s likely the stuff of nightmares for Teheran. Harper went 4 for 6 with two home runs and three walks in nine plate appearances against Teheran in 2017.
Harper gets his first shot at the righty in 2018 tonight after he went 1 for 2 with four walks, a three-run home run, and three runs scored in the series opener with the Nats’ NL East rivals on Monday.
