WASHINGTON – The Instructional League roster of the Nationals includes several members of the 2020 draft class: pitchers Cade Cavalli (first round), Cole Henry (second), Holden Powell (fourth); and Mitchell Parker (fifth); catcher Brady Lindsly (fourth); and infielder Samuel Infante (second).
Also in the 65-player group are non-drafted free agent infielders Quade Tomlin and Jake Boone, who turned down a chance to finish his college career at Princeton to sign with the Nationals.
Both Tomlin and Boone have ties to the Washington franchise: Randy Tomlin, the father of Quade, is a former Major League pitcher who was a minor-league pitching instructor in the Nationals’ system before becoming a high school coach in Virginia.
