Washington Nationals: Four Run First Inning Leads To 6-1 Win Over Cardinals

This afternoon, the Washington Nationals sent Joe Ross to the mound for the first time since April 20 because of a blister on his right middle finger. While Ross got into jams, he was able to be efficient and hold the St. Louis Cardinals to one run. Plus, his offense helped him out with four in the first inning, which was the difference in what ended up being a 6-1 win.

With two outs in the first inning and runners on first and second, Daniel Murphy hit a single to center field against Jaime Garcia that drove in Anthony Rendon.
