It’s been a long road back for Joe Ross, but the Washington Nationals pitcher is finally back in game action. With the rotation struggles the team has had, they’ve certainly missed the right-hander.
On Monday afternoon, Ross pitched for the Gulf Coast League Nationals, his first game since July of 2017. He went three innings without allowing a hit or run, walking two and striking out five.
While the competition is hardly anything challenging, the result is still promising. Now the aim will be to stretch himself back out to potentially contribute down the stretch.
