A.J. Cole got hit hard. Hard, hard. Atlanta jumped on the right-hander early, quickly erasing a 3-0 deficit in the bottom of the first and adding four in the second as they jumped out to an 8-4 lead and continued to add on, with runs in each of the first five innings.
Cole gave up 10 hits and 10 runs total in 3 2⁄3 innings, and the Braves ended the Washington Nationals’ hopes for an undefeated season with a 13-6 win in the second of three between the NL East rivals in SunTrust Park.
