Washington announced this afternoon that both Kelvin Herrera and Jefry Rodriguez were in D.C. for tonight’s second round of the Battle of the Beltways.
In order to make room on the roster for the addition of the two pitchers, the Nationals sent Wander Suero down to Triple-A Syracuse and placed injured first baseman Matt Adams on the 10-Day Disabled list, retroactive to June 16th with a fractured left index finger, the result of a botched bunt attempt on the last road trip.
Nationals’ skipper Davey Martinez announced last night that that it would be Rodriguez who came up to start against the Baltimore Orioles in tonight’s series opener.
