Washington Nationals’ GM Mike Rizzo discussed Anthony Rendon’s bone bruise in his toe in last Wednesday’s interview with 106.7 the FAN in D.C.’s The Sports Junkies, after making the decision to place the 27-year-old third baseman on the 10-Day Disabled List back on April 22nd, retroactive to the 19th.
“He fouled that ball of his toe and it just didn’t come around,” Rizzo explained.
“So we put him on the DL so he can get off it,” Rizzo continued, “and he’s eligible to come off I think next Sunday (4/29), and we’ll see where he’s at and hopefully he can come off when he’s eligible on Sunday after the ten days.
