WASHINGTON - Dorman High in South Carolina has produced two Major League players, at least seven draft picks, and a slew of Division I college baseball players.
Now another recent graduate is off to a fast start in the farm system of the Nationals.
T.J. White, an outfielder, was drafted by Washington earlier this year in the fifth round.
“He’s young, very young,” Nationals’ Assistant Director of Amateur Scouting Mark Baca told reporters after the second day of the draft this past July.
“Switch hitter,” Baca added. “I think that the intriguing part for us with him, is the fact that he’s switch hitter, his youth, he’s only 17, and he’s got a chance to have power from both sides of the plate.
