Red Sox veteran Dustin Pedroia added two hits, including a two-run double, in the leadoff spot. The Nats also got a solid performance from their leadoff man, as Trea Turner was 2-for-3. Adam Lind added two hits for the Nats.
Joe Ross, penciled in as Washington's No. 5 starter, gave up eight hits and four runs over five innings, walking two and striking out seven. Veteran non-roster invitee Kyle Kendrick, who is slated to open the season at Triple-A Pawtucket, finished his strong Spring Training by allowing one earned run and no walks over four innings while striking out five.
