Trout says Scherzer is best pitcher he's faced: 'I was happy he left' American League

Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout has big praise for Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer.

During a video chat on Instagram for Nike Golf, the three-time MVP told pro golfer Brooks Koepka that Scherzer is the best pitcher he has ever faced in his career, calling the 35-year-old “nasty.”

Trout, regarded as the best player in Major League Baseball, recalled the showdown the two had during the 2018 All-Star Game at Nationals Park. Scherzer had struck out the first two batters on six pitchers, and then the two battled, with Trout drawing a walk on an eight-pitch at-bat.
