Treinen recalled by Nats; Barrett optioned

The Nationals made a move in their bullpen Thursday, when they recalled Blake Treinen from Triple-A Syracuse and optioned Aaron Barrett to their top affiliate. Treinen is 2-2 with a 4.39 ERA in 32 games for Washington this year, and he's coming off five straight scoreless outings for Syracuse.

Treinen has thrown 12 scoreless innings for Syracuse since July 12. He struck out 14 batters and walked one during that stretch. The 27-year-old made 16 starts for Syracuse last season, and he racked up an 8-2 record and a 3.35 ERA while allowing just four home runs.
