Washington Nationals’ pitchers Stephen Strasburg and Max Scherzer join Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitcher Clayton Kershaw as the three finalists for the 2017 National League CY Young Award.
Strasburg is coming off a career year in which he finished 15-4 with a 2.52 ERA, which was ranked third in the National League, and 204 strikeouts in 28 games.
Strasburg averaged 10.47 strikeouts per nine innings and set a career high for most strikeouts in a single game against the San Diego Padres on May 15 when he tallied 15 in seven innings of work.
