The Washington Nationals have reportedly signed 2016 World Series Champion Miguel Montero to a minor league deal.

The Washington Nationals have signed veteran catcher Miguel Montero to a minor league deal on Thursday, according to Washington Post’s Chelsea Janes.

Montero’s deal includes an invite to Spring Training.

Montero spent time with the Chicago Cubs and the Toronto Blue Jays during the 2017 season, playing in 44 games with the Cubs before being designated for assignment after criticizing pitcher Jake Arrieta to the media after a loss to the Nationals.

Montero was later traded to the Blue Jays for cash considerations. He appeared in 32 games and posted a .
