The Washington Nationals reinstated starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg and infielder Stephen Drew from the 15-day disabled list Wednesday.
Strasburg was scheduled to pitch later in the day against the Braves, his first start since Aug. 17. He was placed on the disabled list because of elbow soreness. The Nationals stressed at the time that the move was precautionary.
Drew missed 40 games because of symptoms from vertigo. Drew was sick, then had an inner-ear complications afterward. He was often dizzy, eventually needing a “shot in the ear” to help him recover.
