Solis was called to action Tuesday because of Strasburg's exit due to shoulder irritation.
With the bullpen overworked, manager Matt Williams wondered after the game if Solis could pitch on back-to-back days. Solis believes he can.
"The good thing about Sammy is that he is a former starter and he understands how to pace himself," Williams said. "He threw the ball really well. He kept us in the game and allowed us to have chances to win it."
Said Solis, "I felt great. You never want to pitch in a situation like that early on with the starter coming out like that.
