"He went there for a purpose," Baker said. "We thought he was going to go one and done and come back home. He wants to stay, they need him, and that's the kind of guy Tanner is."
A few other Nationals did return to camp Wednesday morning from the Classic, including Jhonatan Solano from Team Colombia and left-hander Oliver Perez from Team Mexico.
