Reynaldo Lopez dominated Atlanta Braves’ hitters in back-to-back wins last month, but struggled and failed to make it out of the third the last time out before Sunday night’s start against the New York Mets.
In a rough 2 2⁄3-inning outing on the road against the Baltimore Orioles, Lopez gave up seven hits, three walks and six runs, four earned in what ended up an 8-1 loss.
“He was facing some veteran hitters that can hit,” Dusty Baker told reporters after the outing against the O’s.
“He couldn’t put them away. He'd get two strikes, but we knew they were a very good offensive team.
