With two days until pitcher and catchers report to spring training, the Washington Nationals have made a late addition to their bench.
The Nationals reportedly agreed to a major-league deal with first baseman/outfielder Adam Lind on Monday. ESPN’s Jim Bowden first reported the deal. The deal is pending a physical.
Lind, 33, hit .239 with 20 home runs and 58 RBI in 126 games last season with the Seattle Mariners. Over his 11-year major league career, Lind has 186 home runs with 664 RBI and a .271 batting average. He has averaged 25 home runs and 88 RBI each year over that span.
