It was a lost weekend at Nationals Park, as the home team dropped three games to the struggling Los Angeles Dodgers in less than 27 hours.
The Nationals (24-21), dealing with injuries on a daily basis, lost 7-2 on Sunday, getting swept in a three-game series that they’d come into as one the hottest teams in baseball, having won 13 of 15.
But Washington had just four hits Sunday, and more than its share of bad luck, as Anthony Rendon made the last out in the eighth, stranding two runners on base when his hard shot hit the pitcher and bounced right to the first baseman for the third out.
