Minor league outfielder Juan Soto, the No. 2 prospect in the Nationals farm system according to MLB.com, was promoted on Monday from the low Single-A Hagerstown (Maryland) Suns of the South Atlantic League to high Single-A Potomac of the Carolina League.
Soto, 19, a lefty swinger from the Dominican Republic, was tearing up the South Atlantic League. He was hitting .373 in 16 games and leading the league in RBIs (24), extra-base hits (13), slugging (.814) and on-base average (.486).
Last week he was named the South Atlantic League player of the week.
