WASHINGTON -- Ryan Zimmerman took light swings in the batting cage recently, but he still felt pain in his left oblique. Zimmerman and the Nationals declined to say if the right-handed-hitting first baseman is out for the rest of the season.
Zimmerman hurt the oblique on Sept. 5 against the Braves and has been in only one game since.
"He still feels it, unfortunately," manager Matt Williams said. "So it's light [work] in the cage -- fungo, tee work and a little bit of soft toss. He is trying to work through that part of it.
