LOS ANGELES -- Nationals center fielder Denard Span is back on the field and he is doing some throwing, running and light swinging. According to manager Matt Williams, the team is proceeding with caution.
The reason for that is Span had a minor setback last week. He dealt with back tightness after taking batting practice and performing outfield drills. He had the rest of Thursday and all of Friday off. However, Span was able to run sprints and play catch Saturday.
There is still no timetable as to when Span will play a Major League game.
