Nats reportedly nearing deal with Wieters

The Nationals are closing in a deal with free-agent catcher Matt Wieters, according to MLB Network Insider Jon Heyman.

The club has not confirmed the report.

Wieters, who turns 31 in May, has spent his entire eight-year career with the Orioles. His is a .256/.318/.421 career hitter with 117 home runs, two Gold Glove Awards and four All-Star selections.
