Nats outfielder Johnson plans to play in 2016

WASHINGTON -- Nationals outfielder Reed Johnson said he plans to return for the 2016 season. He said playing with Class A Advanced Potomac during a recent rehab stint helped him decide on his future.

"I'm going to try to play again," Johnson said. "When I was in the rehab stint with those guys, it was one of the great times I had all year. … It reassured me to keep playing."

Johnson, 38, is currently on disabled list because of a left foot injury, which occurred in April. He is also dealing with a broken rib, which was caused by an errant throw by the opposing third baseman.
