WASHINGTON -- The Nationals and Padres found themselves in a slugfest on Sunday afternoon at Nationals Park. When it was over, the Padres outslugged the Nationals, 10-6.
The game was tied at 6 when the Padres scored the go-ahead run in the ninth off closer Jonathan Papelbon. After Wil Myers walked, Matt Kemp struck out, while Myers advanced to second on a wild pitch by Papelbon. Yangervis Solarte came to plate and singled to center, scoring Myers and giving the Padres a 7-6 lead. The Padres then broke the game open on Alexei Ramirez's three-run double.
