Selected by the Nats with the No. 34 overall pick in the 2011 Draft, Goodwin appeared to be on the fast track to the Major Leagues after an impressive 2012 full-season debut in which he batted .280/.384/.469 with 14 home runs and 18 stolen bases between Class A Hagerstown and Double-A Harrisburg.
