The Washington Nationals called off their suspended game and regularly-scheduled game with the New York Yankees around 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Nationals Park, as a light rain fell with more expected in the forecast the rest of the evening.
The games will be made up on June 18 at 5:05 p.m., according to the Nationals.
The teams were scheduled to begin play at 5:05 p.m. Wednesday with the game tied 3-3 going into the last of the sixth inning, picking up from when play was halted by rain on Tuesday night.
Both teams have off Thursday, but the Yankees begin a series in Kansas City on Friday and there was concern about hotel rooms for the Yankees in the Washington area on Wednesday night.
