Nationals roster: Nats bolster the bullpen with the signing of Jorge Lopez

GM Mike Rizzo has finally decided to bolster a weakened bullpen by signing veteran Jorge Lopez to a one-year deal. The deal is worth $3 million. After non-tendering Kyle Finnegan, and trading Robert Garcia, the bullpen was an obvious area the Nats needed to attack.

Lopez has been an effective reliever, posting sub-3 ERA’s in two of the last three seasons. He also brings closing experience, saving 23 games in 2022. Lopez started last season with the Mets, before being cut after an explosive clubhouse rant.

However, the 31 year old was fantastic after being picked up by the Cubs.
