The Washington Nationals announced this afternoon that they reinstated Anthony Rendon from the DL and optioned right-hander Abel de Los Santos to Double-A Harrisburg to make room on the roster.
Rendon missed 25 games with a left quad strain after starting the season late following an MCL sprain suffered in Spring Training and an oblique issue suffered while he was rehabbing from the knee injury.
Rendon appeared in six minor league rehab games before he was reinstated, going 8 for 17 (.471 AVG) with two doubles, three walks and two runs scored.
