The Washington Nationals have postponed their annual homecoming gala event due to coronavirus fears.
The gala was scheduled for March 23 at The Anthem at District Wharf. A make-up date was not announced.
It was going to be the Nationals’ first gala since winning the franchise’s first World Series.
The annual red-carpet event features live entertainment for fans along with a cocktail reception, a dinner and live auction. Last year’s event raised more than $1 million for the Nationals’ Dream Foundation.
As of now, the Major League Baseball regular season is still scheduled to begin three days later on March 26.
