The Washington Nationals placed struggling relief pitcher Sean Doolittle on the 10-day injured list Thursday with right knee fatigue and selected the contract of pitcher Seth Romero, who will join the 30-man active roster in his place.
The Nationals also reinstated reliever Will Harris from the injured list and placed reliever Sam Freeman on the IL with a left flexor mass strain.
Doolittle, 33, is off to a rough start in 2020 with seven hits allowed and five earned runs (including three home runs) in just three innings of work. He went as far as to deactivate his Twitter account after he allowed two home runs in a loss to the Baltimore Orioles on Aug.
