The Nationals suffered six losses in their last ten games, but they’re still hovering around the top 10 in some of the latest power rankings.
USA Today and ESPN both rank the Nationals at No. 10. Sporting News lifted the Nationals to No. 9 and CBS Sports dropped Washington to No. 11.
CBS Sports placed the Nationals under the “‘Get hot at the right time’” umbrella as the MLB schedule nears the postseason.
Any success for Washington will likely come from starting pitchers Max Scherzer, Stephen Strasburg and Patrick Corbin — but Scherzer is still on the injured list with a back strain.
