A bevy of minor leaguers had to move from the major-league side of camp to the minor-league facility on Monday.
Among them was starting pitcher Austin Voth, who is one of the few remaining pitching prospects in the Washington Nationals’ system following an offseason trade that sent Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez to the Chicago White Sox for Adam Eaton.
Voth finished with a 3.15 ERA for Triple-A Syracuse last season, where he will also start this season. Since the Nationals’ starting rotation appears intact — pending the cooperation of Max Scherzer’s achy ring finger — there is not yet room for Voth.
