Before Sunday's game, Murphy was seen on the field at Nationals Park doing running drills without any problems. He then ran the bases. Murphy is expected to be back in the lineup by Tuesday when the Nationals play the Dodgers. Murphy is batting a Major League-high .348 with 17 home runs, 66 RBIs and a .387 on-base percentage.
As for Rendon, he was originally listed hitting cleanup in Sunday's starting lineup, but was scratched because of flu-like symptoms.
Manager Dusty Baker inserted second baseman Trea Turner into the leadoff spot, while Stephen Drew, who was supposed to start at second base, played third base and batted seventh.
