MIAMI -- Anthony Rendon and Victor Robles each homered to stake Washington to an early lead, but the Nats' bullpen faltered in an 8-5 loss to the Marlins on Monday night in the first of a two-game series at Marlins Park.
Jimmy Cordero and Koda Glover combined for five runs allowed on six hits over 1 1/3 innings of relief. It overshadowed Robles' first Major League home run, a three-hit night for Rendon and a nice, albeit shortened, outing from starter Erick Fedde.
The Washington right-hander worked 4 1/3 innings in his first time facing the Marlins.
