WASHINGTON -- Howie Kendrick launched a walk-off grand slam in the 11th inning to lead the Nationals to a 6-2 victory in the nightcap of Sunday's doubleheader against the Giants. It was Kendrick's first career grand slam and it came against Giants left-hander Albert Suarez to end a marathon 24 hours for both teams, which included a game late Saturday night that ended Sunday morning, followed by a pair of games on Sunday.
The rally in the 11th began with consecutive singles from Ryan Zimmerman and Daniel Murphy, two of the key players the Nationals will rely on while Bryce Harper is on the disabled list with a hyperextended left knee.
