After finishing with an MLB-best 1.185 on-base plus slugging percentage during the 60-game season, Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto earned his first Silver Slugger award, Louisville Slugger announced Thursday night on MLB Network.
The 22-year-old led the National League with a .351 batting average to go along with 13 home runs and 37 RBI. His .490 on-base percentage and .695 slugging percentage also lead the majors.
Soto has developed into one of the top hitters in the league since bursting onto the scene in 2018. During the Nationals’ 2019 postseason run, Soto made his mark on the national stage, clubbing five homers — including three during the World Series.
