The “Childish Bambino” keeps on hitting.
Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto was named National League Rookie of the Month for July on Thursday, the second straight month he’s won the award.
Soto hit .299 in July with five home runs, five doubles, a triple and 15 RBI. He scored 18 runs and drew 16 walks in that time.
Soto has drawn praise for his plate discipline, but sometimes, it does not take much discipline for him to walk. On July 26, Soto became the fourth teenaged player to draw multiple intentional walks in a game since it became an official MLB stat in 1955:
The @Nationals Juan Soto was intentionally walked twice today, becoming the fourth teenager to tally multiple intentional walks since they became an official statistic in 1955.
