Juan Soto named NL Rookie of the Month

He began the season on fire and ended it the same way.

Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto was named National League Rookie of the Month for the third time this summer.

The 19-year-old Dominican finished first in September among NL rookies in home runs, doubles, RBIs, and walks. Soto also tied for third in runs scored and stolen bases, fourth in hits, fifth in on-base percentage, and tied for fifth in slugging percentage compared to his rookie peers.

Soto beat out thriving rookies like Ronald Acuña Jr of the Atlanta Braves, pitcher Corbin Burnes of the Milwaukee Brewers, and starting pitcher Walker Buehler of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
