Joe Ross chased early in Nationals' loss to Dodgers

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Joe Ross didn’t stick around long after a couple of mistake pitches to Yasiel Puig.

The rookie who was coming off yet another strong start struggled in Washington’s 5-0 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday night. The Nationals‘ seventh shutout defeat this season dropped them 2 1/2 games behind the NL East-leading Mets.

Ross (3-4) gave up five runs and six hits in 4 2-3 innings. He walked four after having walked just four batters in the first 45 innings of his career.
