As electronic music thumped in the Washington Nationals clubhouse Tuesday night, Jayson Werth stood in front of his locker with a white brace on his left wrist.
Werth was placed on the 15-day disabled list earlier Tuesday afternoon with a left wrist contusion. Though neither X-rays nor an MRI revealed any fractures, the 35-year-old left fielder said after Washington’s 8-6 win that his wrist is badly swollen and will require several more days of rest. The swelling has decreased in recent days, he said, but not by much.
“It’s still swollen,” Werth said.
