The Nationals recalled right-handed pitchers Jimmy Cordero and Jefry Rodriguez from Triple-A Syracuse and optioned Trevor Gott to Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday. Additionally, they placed right-handed pitcher Jeremy Hellickson on the 10-day disabled list (retroactive to Thursday) with a right wrist sprain.
Cordero, 26, joins the Nationals for his second Major League stint of the season. He has appeared in two games out of the Nationals bullpen, making his Major League debut on Aug. 2 vs. Cincinnati. He is 4-1 with six saves and a 1.96 ERA (10 ER/46.0 IP) in 41 games for Triple-A Syracuse in 2018.
