CINCINNATI -- Bryce Harper had been relatively quiet during this opening weekend in Cincinnati, but he made his impact on Sunday's game against the Reds. First, he made a nice sliding catch to rob Billy Hamilton of a hit in the third inning. Then he deposited a 3-1 pitch from right-hander Sal Romano into the right-field stands in the sixth inning for a solo home run.
Three innings later, he smacked another solo homer to dead center to give the Nationals a 6-3 lead. It was the first two homers of the season for Harper.
